English Department Mission Statement (Created in May 2008)
The mission of the English Department is to foster appreciation for language and literature and encourage insightful interpretation of all literary genres. Students learn to develop their intellectual voices in a trusting environment. They practice critical thinking, effective communicating, creative and analytical writing, and discerning research.
